The preliminary rounds were held and the best team from each class was selected for the final round. The competition got more intense and raised the spirit of young students. Children participated with great enthusiasm and there was much anticipation in the air. .
Students of classes Nursery to 3 were appreciated and rewarded certificates of star of the month in morning assembly today.
The assembly on the theme 'Good Manners' was conducted by the mentors of Nursery to class 3. They depicted the importance of good manners, of being polite and courteous, of being well-disciplined and generous through a well-presented skit. They also emphasized that good habits, as well as our behavior, should not hurt the feelings of others and lead to any inconvenience to others.

The hare & the tortoise story was told & enacted for the students of classes Nursery @ Suraj school sec 56 by Mrs Mukta & Mrs Minakshi. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school prefectorial board was formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection. The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2019-20 was held on the 10th September 2019. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Hector Ravinder Dutt-Joint Director at the Suraj Group of Schools. The ceremony began with the recitation of the prayers and Saraswati Vandana followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest. Hon'ble Principal and Vice-Principal and the Proud Parents. A welcome song with speech and quotes on leadership were also performed by the students of grade 9-12 which held everyone captive to their performance. The Principal Sh. Ramesh Bhatia inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in his address to the gathering. The Choir had a melodious and inspiring song which perfectly suited the event. The song told the students how to overcome their fears and challenges and never give up whatever the situation may be. The march by all the prefects was a spectacular event which set the mood for the event.
Recently, Traffic light making craft activity was organized by Suraj School sector-56 to teach tiny tots different shapes of transportation, road safety & developing fine motor skills. The function started with welcoming the grandparents and chief guest Major Atul Dev & guests of honor Mr. Mahesh Dayma followed by heartwarming dance & music performances by our little ones. The School Staff also interacted on a one-to-one basis with the guests & health checkup was organized in association with multi-specialty hospitals. The show started with the Kabir Doha to acknowledge the teachers. The narrators explained that the Teacher is higher than even God himself. The energy of the children charged the environment and the teachers were touched by their dance & music performances.

All the teachers were thanked for their diligence, sincerity and hard work by Suraj Education Group & cake cutting ceremony was held. Teachers were gathered together and were indulged in fun-filled activities. They sang, danced and played together creating memories to cherish forever. They reveled in the company of their fellow teachers, taking pride in their role as teachers who transform lives and create the future.

They emphasized on the fact that one becomes what she/he repeatedly does, so if we form good habits we become good.
The students effectively conveyed the message through a small skit and spoke about good habits like following cleanliness routines, respecting elders, being kind and caring and keeping the surroundings clean. They urged everyone to shed away bad habits and form good ones. Students presented a few lines very confidently and promised Vice Principal to follow good habits regularly. Students were reminded to communicate only in the English language in classrooms, buses & in school premises.
Class 6 academic students at Suraj school sec-56 learned about adaptations of different animals & created beautiful posters & labeled them according to the collected information about different types of adaptations in animals to survive in their particular habitat.

Suraj school sec-56 organized an educational trip to Qutub Minar for the students of classes 7 & 8 on 18/4/19. The students were amazed to see Qutub Minar, the tallest building in India of the ancient times that forms a part of Qutub complex, a UNESCO world heritage site in Delhi. As the students walked along with the complex, the shadow of the tall minaret with a great history took them into the past. The little historians couldn't conceal their curiosity and asked many questions as they learned about the history and architecture of the breath-taking monument. They were equally fascinated to see the "Iron Pillar", situated within the complex, and the inscriptions on it written in various languages. The students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and came back with a pandora box of knowledge which made the excursion fruitful and joyous. .

National Science Day was observed at Suraj school sector-56 in the morning assembly on 28/2/19 to mark the novel discovery of Raman Effect by the great Indian Physicist Sir C V Raman. He was the first to bring the Nobel Award for the country in 1930. Hence the National Science Day is a great day for Indian science and scientific community. The programs started with the presentation by the students on the contribution towards science by an eminent scientist followed by the students explaining various experiments with the help of working models and charts prepared by them on various topics of science. They also presented a heartwarming song on “Vigyan ke chamatkar”.
Teaching young children about community helpers is a popular element for a good reason. Keeping this in view, a special assembly was organized for the Students of Suraj school sector 56 Gurgaon, on the theme—‘Community Helpers’on 20/2/19. A spectacular and colourful assembly was conducted by the students of Suraj school sec 56 to celebrate Christmas and mark the end of 2018. The students of the Primary & middle section recited poems and spoke on how the festival is celebrated highlighting the message of sharing, peace, togetherness and giving. They also spoke on various symbols associated with the festival. The assembly culminated with a dance put up by the students .The little ones dressed in white and red, spread the feeling of cheer and joy amongst all present there. This was followed by a class party where the message of sharing and caring was actually put into practice as the children shared their food with their friends. Suraj school organized a visit to the Church of Epiphany on 21st December 2018 for the students of preprimary section. The purpose of the visit was to inculcate spiritual values in children. The students experienced a peaceful and serene ambiance, prevailing in the church. The Priest of the Church made the children aware of the religious ceremonies held in the church and sang hymns. The Priest also gave sweets to the students. The students were overwhelmed to seek the blessings of the Almighty. They came back happily, enriching themselves with a soulful and spiritual experience.
